New edition

None other than Stanley Brinks and his mademoiselle Freschard will be on stage on Sunday during a new edition of dB’s Buiten. It may not mean anything to you, but you’re sold as soon as you start listening. Beautiful pop songs, with the characteristic voice of Stanley Brinks. Songs about drink, cigarettes, (lost) loves and general existential despair. “Will be beautiful, guaranteed”, promises dBs. So don’t think of a reason to stay at home.

Cultural Sunday: The Neighborhood Unpacks – New and Old Hoograven

Cultural Sunday is moving into the neighborhood! This Sunday there is plenty to do for all ages at the festival site at Tolsteegplanstoen in Hoograven. My Motion holds dance demonstrations, Billbunker gives an intense rock concert, there is a freestyle football clinic and the Utrecht rapper KEEK and his band take you on a show full of extremes; fragile, modest, but also full of energy and groovy. The Utrecht Tweetakt Festival will start again this weekend! At various places in the city, such as the Neude, the Domplein, the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht and Fort Ruigenhoek, performances in the field of theatre, music and art can be seen. Every year there are innovative theater and dance performances for all ages. The music programming is free this year; from electro pop and folk, to Flemish life songs. Spoon Spoon

Lepeltje Lepeltje is back in Utrecht after two years of absence. From Friday to Sunday, epicureans from Utrecht can indulge themselves in Park Lepelenburg. The park is filled with food trucks, live music and there is also plenty to do for the little ones. An outing for the whole family. With traditional Dutch snacks from De Bitterballen Juwelier, tortillas from Caliente, coconut macaroons from Woest, tacos from Wild Rose Taqueria and much more, you can last a weekend in Park Lepelenburg.

The Rotterdam quartet Lewsberg loves literature; the band named itself after cult writer Robert Loesberg and once released a single titled Non-fiction Writer. Now there is a new album, full of songs that are a combination of post-punk, casual indie and spoken-word-esque English lyrics with a heavy Dutch accent. They were already in ACU, but are now back in Utrecht; at EKKO! The support act is provided by SOON.
